Homecoming ? What is that ,you may ask.
So let mequick explain thisor better google will :
"Homecoming is a time to celebrate the school you’re attending. And, after you’ve graduated, it’s a time to go back (or “come home”) to your town and the campus, see old friends, and reminisce about your school days."
The week before homecoming is the homecoming week ,where the student express their spirit for the school.
And also the girls who are running for becoming homecoming queen will share sweets, do posters and try to get as much votes as they can.
To become homecomingquen zou have to have good grades, beeing a senior and it wouldnt be badif you're poular ,so the people vote for you. Then you will have an excourt ,someine (a boy) who will suport you during this time and will walk with you through the hall at the school essembly.
The school itself is decorated the football player honored and everybody is excited.
Every day has itws theme.
Monday: We had no school
Tuesday : Fashion Disater
(Everybody dresses crazy )
Wednesday: Gender Bender
(We swich our sex . Boys are girls , girls boys)
Thursday : Colour war:
all the classes dress in another colour to show their pride about the class their in . (Seniors 12, black), Juniors(11,blue), Sophomores (10,green), Freshmen (9,orange). We also vote for the homecoming queen.
Friday: Spirit day
(School colours ) + Essembly+ Parade + HOMECOMING GAME
Saturday : Homecoming Dance (Everybody has a cute dressor suit and our theme this year is madigra (Karneval, kind of ).
Well and on wednesday we also had a special football game where i actually took part in it .
Its called powder puff where girls try to play footbal ,which was so much fun . There were two teams : (juniors+ sophomores) + (Seniors+Freshmen) ..... wel lost 18:32 . Still so much fun haha.
There were also Mucho-Macho-Marage : A dance performance, performed by some boys, in crazy outfits . And that was so much fun . Afterwards we had a huge bonfire .
Friday we had the school essembly where they decide who become Homecoming queen.
The "queens" walked with their escourte trough the gym and perofemd a kind of dance. In the background someone was speaking and told us something about the "queen" and "king ".
Afterward they made it official who won .
During this our danceteams and cheerleadr, band and drama club perdormed as well.
After that , we had our school parade. The theme of the homecoming is mardi gras (Kind of karneval ) so i did not wonder why they shared sweets with the crowds at the street. Man ,that was fun !
Then there was an enchilada dinner (Enchilda is something typicall new mexican food). The money they raised is for a charity community, i think .
So and then was the actuall homecoming game . The Queen walked trough the field and then its started . We won 30:18 against the Kajoties.
Well, and today is the biggest fun part : the Homecoming dance . I have a beautiful dress, a mask etc. But i will do another post about that .
